Make an Online Appointment

I am a "private massage clinic." What does that mean?

I do not take walk ins, I am by appoinment only! I am not a massage establishment, I am sole proprietor massage therapist and only see one person at a time. My clinic is a professional location with a hair salon, Esthetician studio and other businesses next to it.

How often do I need to come in

Everybody is different! My massage effectiveness on average should last you from 4-14 days depending on your situation. Some clients may need to be seen 2-3 times per week, but others may only need 1 time per week. Each case is different, but on average for the therapuetic benifits to work, regular massage therapy maitenance one time per week is recommended. If you stretch the limits to one time per month by that time you musles have usually returned back to their original tighness and we normally have to start over again.

Unless you had an accident or recent injury, your pain just did not get there over night. Once you feel the pain and tightness, it has already been there for years and not just in the top layer of muscles but all the way down to the 3rd and 4th layers. I can start helping you feel better in possibly one treatment or more depending on whats going on internally. If you don't keep up on regular visits your pain will come back because muscles have memory and they will revert back to being tight. Unfortunatly just because I bring you out of pain quickly that does not mean your tissues are now in a healthy state, you most continue your visits because to return your muscles to being healthy is a long term process.

Most tightness is believed to be genetic and started from when you were very young. If you look at your parents they probably have the same tight and stiff areas as you have and similar posture problems. So in order to get past your myosketal predisposition we have to be consistant.

What I Work On in Addition to a General Massage

Whiplash, Torticollis, Cervical Strain, Range of Motion Limitations, Lumbago (Back Pain), Sciatica, Pelvic Tilt and Roation, Post-Op Back Surgery, Post Operative Conditions, Frozen Shoulder, Rotator Cuff Strain or Injury, Tennis and Golfer's Elbow, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Piriformis Syyndrome (Sciatica Entrapment), Sub Acute Sciatica (Sciatica Compression), Shin Splints, Chondro-Malacia, Planter Fascitis, Sprain & Strain, DeQuervain's Tenosynovitis/Tendonitis,  Bicipital Tendonitis, Bursitis, Overuse/Misuse, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Wye Neck (Neck Spasm), TMJ, Structural Diviations: Lordosis, Kyphosis, Scoliosis, Tension, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Headaches, General Neck, Occipital & Anterior Neck Balancing, Pain Management and Stress Management.

Do You Take Insurance

Spa Alexis does not accept insurance as payment, but I do accept credit cards that are from a Health Savings Account or a Flexible Savings Account. up til November 31st 2013.

Did you know you can put away up to $3000 a year into your health savings account and it will not be taxed and you can use this money for non covered health care, such as massages! You do not have to prove the expense if audited and you do not need a doctors note.

Regardless, I can provide you with an invoice with the CPT codes on it so in case you do not have a HSA or a FSA or that your insurance possibly does cover massage, you will be able to submit for a possible full or partial reimbursement.

Tipping

A tip is customarily given if you liked your service and you felt I did a good job.

Draping
Minimal draping to the clients comfort level.

Do I need to remove my clothes

Most massage and body treatments do require you to remove your clothing, but I do have a number of massages that do not require you to disrobe at all, such as neuromuscular massage and ashi-thai massage.

How early should I be
Please consider traffic and allow for the timing. If you are a new client please allow 10 minutes prior to your appointment in order to complete the paper work and have a consultation. If you are a repeat client 5 minutes early is fine.

Where are you located and where do I park
Please print out or view the map! I am located ground floor of 3000 Sage Apartments. The are 5 studio businesses located on the 1st floor, in the front facing Sage Rd. across from the Sonesta ES Suites. You can park either in the parking lot for future resident parking directly underneath the large overhead sign that says 3000 Sage where there is a blue fire hydrant at the driveway, or you may park in the parking lot of the Sonesta ES Suites. I pay them monthly for parking, so you will NOT be towed.

The 10 minutes off the massage deal
In the professional practice of massage therapy it is customary to take 5 minutes off to get undressed and 5 minutes off to get dressed. I DO NOT take the 10 minutes off because you have the option to purchase 50 minutes vs. 60 minutes. Unfortunatly if you are late I probably will not be able to extend you time because I usually have another client after you. I am on time for you so please be on time for me!

Do You Offer Sensual or Prostate Massage
I run a professional legitimate practice and abide by all professional codes of ethics per Associated Bodyworks & Massage Professionals, AMTA, Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Law. My massage sessions are 100% professional and non sexual. Please do not ask for any illegal service (you know what those are including a nude massage therapist and prostate massage), All services that the Houston Vice, Houston Police Department and Texas Department of State Health Services would consider illegal are NOT allowed here (this includes asking your massage therapist to wear sexy clothing or lingerie).  If you ask for anything illegal you will have your session ended, asked to leave and charged for the full session.

Credit Card or PayPal Deposits
It is required to give a credit card to secure your appointment, or prepay a cash deposit of the full amount through paypal. Unfortuniatly due to no show - no calls, cancelations and reschedulers, I require this like other massage day spas so that my clients who really want to come in can get an open appointment that is not taken up by no show- no calls, cancelations and reschedulers.

Cancelation Policy

Please cancel or reschedule by calling or texting me within 24 hours for a full refund, otherwise you will be charged the full regular price amount of the appointment. E-mailing is an unacceptable way to do this because I may not see it till much later then needed. Texting me is acceptable! If an appointment is scheduled same day proper cancelation notice will be considered on a case by case bases. I understand sometimes the appointment is made same day and last minute, just please keep in mind when you take up a space I can not fill it with someone else who wants it and when you cancel it creates scheduling issues and lack of income for me as a small business.

No Show No Call
No shows no calls are not tolerated and will be charged the full amount of the regular priced appoinment and be blocked from future booking online and with me. If you no show no call by accident you will be allowed to make a prior paypal deposit of the funds and then I will schedule you.

Refunds
There are absolutley no refunds for any services or items purchased at Spa Alexis

.
